  • MSc / pHD in packaging or print technology, engineering, materials science or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Packaging Development

Our Proposition :

Drive the execution of packaging development and maintenance projects for a given packaging primary technology, including its secondary, tertiary pack and palletisation (packaging format).

Responsible to define the strategy to implement packaging Innovation and Renovation projects, product performance and TDC savings projects while ensuring compliance, target cost, target quality and target speed are met. Drive Local Packaging Specialist's development leveraging functional competencies and help building development plans.

A day in the life of a Central Packaging Specialist role:

  • Implementation of I&R, sourcing and Major initiatives

Collaborate with marketing and other functions to build strong Packaging solutions delivering brief needs.

Deliver lean packaging design for relevant packaging format. Ensure appropriate involvement of Technology Platforms and Engineering teams for assigned format and ensure risk assessment defined for factory trials with the appropriate stakeholders.

Preassess the Concept requirements against NPPE product guidelines (Menus) to ensure fit for speed. Development and Industrialisation of approved briefs to meet I/R Strategy and Total Delivery Cost (TDC) objectives.

Develop Packaging specifications including primary, secondary and palletisation patterns for assigned format to meet consumer, quality and process needs.

  • Packaging leadership

Lead packaging and supplier developments for assigned packaging format within the team to ensure sustainable optimised TDC along the complete value chain.

Identify and implement TDC savings initiatives. Validate new packaging materials with factory trials for manufacturing qualificaton, ensure material availability.

Provide technical expertise to drive issue solving to factory packaging specialists and to support central team for the development of new products and equipment’s.

Act as technical interface between factory and Marketing to turn initiatives into tangible committed actions.

Provide inputs and support capex needs for I&R or Capacity expansion projects for assigned packaging format. Provide inputs and support line commissioning and packaging validation for Capex . Proactively network to share information across factories, PTC and central. Provide packaging material expertise into relevant training documentation and UOS.

  • Right Quality

Lead packaging development for the assigned format to meet the defined quality targets and 360 product performance. Actively participate in 360 quality reviews to continuously improve our product performance and maintain our competitive advantage in the market place.

Ensure compliant packaging developed through the I and R process to meet internal and external regulations by technical support of the suppliers.

  • Continuous improvement

Deliver individual and team objectives as defined in the relevant documents - roadmap, Blueprints. Lead and participate to Problem Solving activities (GSTD / DMAIC) / projects within factory and central organisations.

Monitor KPI's which are related to Packaging quality and Packaging performance and drive corrective actions in the factories. Identify, Support & implement packaging related cost improvement initiatives for appropriate factories.

  • Your English is fluent, SAP knowledge is an advantage
