Position Summary

We are looking for a Subcontracting Planner based at our North York office reporting into the Subcontracting Team Lead. This role will be responsible to build production plans respecting the agreed level of available capacity at copackers to ensure that finished and semi-finished goods are available with high freshness, at the right stock location to meet customer demand whilst minimizing cost. Also ensuring availability of Raw and Packaging materials to fulfil the requirements of the production plans within the agreed cost boundaries.

A day in the life:

As a Subcontracting Planner, you will establish an 18 month production plan for the subcontracting factories (co-packers) within their responsibilities. You will be working on creating an optimized replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials over an 18 month horizon that ensures supply of material to production whilst ensuring that the working capital targets for raw and packaging materials are met.

You will also:

  • Creating capacity / feasibility scenario's for the 3 years MBS plans

  • Creates a feasible production plan that respects capacity defined (available capacity)

  • Identifies possible opportunities and improvements in collaboration with the co-packers within the 18 month horizon

  • Monitor supply signals through the use of MRP purchase requisitions while ensuring delivery dates, lead times and required quantities are correct

  • Creating purchase orders and ensuring their fulfilment by the supplier

  • Manage directly with the defined supplier the delivery of materials: this includes creating, sending, confirming, receiving, investigating errors and discrepancies on blocked or parked invoice lines and handling all exceptions / issues in those operations, including claims management

  • Define the stock policy and management approach to be applied to each SKU within their portfolio

  • Support Ideal 2 Launch Projects including new product development, packaging transition, source change and cost improvement ideas.

What will make you successful?

As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in the production planning of our products so you will need to be passionate, tenacious, results focused and really enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. You will also require:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, engineering, Supply Chain or a related field) or the equivalent combination of education.

  • 2 years or more of experience in Supply Chain or Technical & Production (especially in Factory and/or Co-Manufacturing logistics, Materials Handling or Production Scheduling)

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; Able to communicate information clearly and concisely

  • Proven problem solving, and administrative skills; attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively
