Nestle Starbucks Coffee is looking for a full-time Project Manager to provide strategic leadership and initiative portfolio management for our North America Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) business. You will play a highly visible and critical role in product commercialization, go-to-market strategy and lifecycle management for new strategic product and packaging initiatives. The role will drive program decision making and accountability for the creation, governance and execution of the program work streams delivering agreed milestones through a stage gate process. You will assure that program and product readiness remains on-track to meet target delivery dates, stage gate milestones from assessment to launch, performance expectations and needs of both the business and our consumers. This position is responsible for the overall initiative communication, coordination and management of processes, functions and across the US CPG category. This role will work closely with Core Brand & Go-to-Market Teams, the Channel Innovation Team, Supply Chain, Commercialization, our internal Creative Studio, Finance, Demand Forecasting/Supply Planning and Sales Planning to identify objectives, evaluate size of opportunity from a financial and consumer perspective and drive projects to commercialization across channels and product categories

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Lead management of and reporting for US CPG portfolio of new product and strategic portfolio initiatives

Coordinate across teams to manage list of all active US CPG initiatives, track status and prepare summaries as needed and lead or participate in project prioritization meetings with senior leadership every quarter

Communicate outcome of project prioritization meeting to cross-functional teams and ensure appropriate funds and resources are allocated across the enterprise to support all projects in the pipeline

Reconcile strategic business plan targets (revenue, profit) with current initiative pipeline, identify and communicate gaps along with gap-closing proposals

Drive continuous improvement in portfolio reporting and senior leadership engagement

Manage several complex new CPG product initiatives throughout the stage-gate process

Manage assigned projects with a clear understanding of business and brand context, and develop an understanding of cross-program portfolio dependencies

Work seamlessly with the Innovation Team Project Manager on joint timelines and smooth handoff of projects at the appropriate stages

Lead cross-functional team to deliver the go-to-market launch strategies for these new product initiatives

Manage Stage Gate Process through all key milestones ensuring timely completion of all deliverables

Develop a project plan that includes a detailed budget, project timeline, detailed task-driven schedule, project RACI, resource plan, and communication plan

Drive accountability to project critical path deliverables and identify milestones and trip wires

Communicate with and influence business leaders to make sound business decisions and manage risks

Translate business strategies into clear initiative action plans

Oversee the initiative development (product/packaging/supply) end to end and communicate status to senior leadership, including adherence to specifications, schedule, budget, product compliance and testing requirements

Demonstrate desire and passion to lead breakthrough efforts with willingness to learn and explore outside of normal boundaries to accelerate results

Initiate and lead cross-functional meetings with key stakeholders to review project status, key deliverables, risks, issues, decisions and actions

Develop strong partnerships at all levels across the commercial and technical communities

Ensure that project status reports are relevant, transparent, and add value

Work independently, with limited day-to-day guidance from leadership

Summary of Experience/Desired Skills

CPG and project management experience highly preferred

Experience successfully leading cross functional/ multi-discipline teams across the organization while delivering outstanding results

Proficiency in program stage gating with demonstrated performance in leading complex initiatives and programs from establishment through launch

Ability to lead and drive results from a position of influence

Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a pressurized environment and work proactively to ensure project milestones are met

Understanding of P&L, financial models and overall CPG revenue/cost structure

Desire to drive continuous process improvement by challenging the way things are done and engaging all functions in the company

Excellence in structuring complex tasks and possess strong coordination skills

Highly motivated and self-driven professional: skillful, productive, efficient, creative

Experience developing commercial and technical resources to meet and exceed base expectations and initiative deliverables

Ability to work actively with the program functional leads to optimize the collaboration between the work streams, resolve issues and escalate when necessary to ensure timely course changes when required by circumstances

Comfort with changing business requirements and flexibility in dealing with competing and changing priorities

Experience coaching others through change management

Synthesizing qualitative updates across various teams into clear and concise reports

Education & Technical Skills

MBA a plus or background/degree in Project Management

10 years professional experience working in a business environment

Minimum seven years experience leading and successfully managing multiple projects and programs

Experience with Stage Gate Process

Adept with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
