POSITION SUMMARY:

This role provides culinary mastership in support of the strategic priorities shared across Nestlé Research & Development and the Nestlé food businesses.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $44/hour to $46/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.

The role proactively supports the culinary inspiration and development of Nestlé Development Center (NDC) projects, working with Sensory Product Experience teams, Product Developers, Scientists, Engineers and Operations in scaling up products for Bench-Top, Pilot Plant and factory by applying cooking and cuisine expertise. Knowledge/expertise in Food Science, dough and dough fermentation techniques, pasta/noodle creation and pizza are a strong plus. Exposure to product development activities and food manufacturing facilities is also a strong plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Share culinary expertise within NDC projects and site activities.

• Support development of gold standard and reference target for NDC projects, in collaboration with the Sensory Product Experience team.

• Inspire and support Product Developers and technologists to formulate and develop products, according to Nestlé and external guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Knowledge):

• Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience, with professional certifications.

• Mastery of professional culinary technique (logistics/planning, recipe and process documentation, preparation, consistency, and presentation).

• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation). Must demonstrate clear and concise explanations of product culinary characteristics, marketplace trends and consumer-centric understanding (what, why, how).

• Excellent organizational and planning skills. Can independently and proactively prioritize and manage time and resource commitments across multiple projects.

• Strong interest & motivation (passion) applying culinary knowledge to product development that drives business results (Discovery projects, pipeline, and launches).

• Strong self-directed curiosity, creativity, prototyping and “idea pitch” skill.

• Strong collaboration, networking & information gathering skills. Understands and can proactively drive and promote collaboration of cross-functional relationship networks.

• Understanding of American taste preferences and flavor/cuisine trends.

• Ability to coach, train, and mentor product developers/scientists in the culinary area.

• Ability to Travel 10 - 15%
