Customer Development Telesales Specialist

Location: Tring – Hybrid working: approx. 2 days per week in our office

Salary: £28K - £33K depending on experience + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits

Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Customer Development Specialist to join our Sales team. Reporting directly to the Customer Development Manager, you will be working for the world’s largest food & drink manufacturer with some of the worlds most loved Supplement brands, think Solgar, Nature’s Bounty, Vital Proteins, Minami and more!

The Customer Development Specialist is responsible for interacting with existing and new small to medium accounts on a daily basis, to sell them the benefits of the company’s products or services and to update them on new product launches and monthly promotional programs.

A day in the life of a Customer Development Specialist ...

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a database of independent health food stores and pharmacies through a telesales strategy. You will take a consultative approach to grow their VMHS category, grow distribution of our brand portfolio with the right range in the right store.

  • Communicate category and market insights. Share brand campaigns, agree the execution of promotional activity to drive awareness of our brands in store.

  • Achieve a monthly sales target, evaluate and forecast for each brand in the portfolio

  • Minimum of 85 outbound calls per week

  • Liaise with the field sales team to drive consistency in our consultative approach

  • Maintain digital CRM account records; detailing outcomes of each call and objectives / action plans for the next telephone meeting

  • Analysis of customer order patterns to identify growth opportunities

  • Share growth & execution plans with internal stakeholders to demonstrate a proactive approach to deliver against Consumer Care key priorities.

What will make you successful

To be successful, you’ll have previous experience in telesales operations. You will be passionate, tenacious, results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Efficient and effective verbal communication skills

  • Good remote sales techniques

  • Natural charisma – ability to come across to customers as genuinely likeable, trustworthy and interested in what they have to say

  • Resilience – ability to move straight on with the next call and remain upbeat even after dealing with a difficult or abusive customer

  • IT skills – quickly and efficiently accessing records, updating files and checking databases

  • Strong organisational skills – planning monthly/daily call schedule, setting priorities, coordinating with other members of the team whether office-based or field-based

  • Ability to multitask
